Air Pollution Experiment

Part I: Sunday, August 21, 2011

Me putting petroleum jelly on a plate.

Were the plate is going to stay for a week.

Another Picture.

the busy place were my play is going to collect all the bad stuff.

A train.

The next plate is going in my back yard.

Same.

Part II: Sunday, August 28, 2011

All the dirt and gas fumes in this one.

Seeing more closely.

Counting the partucauls in each square.

The much cleaner plate from our back yard.

Counting the squares like the other one.

Observations:

1. The average number of particulates in Urban Environment = 22
The average number of particulates in Non-urban Environment = 8

2. The particulates on the two collectors suggest that the level of air pollution in each environment is greater in an urban environment and is made of different things -- soot and dirt in urban, bugs and plants in non-urban.
